Title Longitudinal study of print finance journalism (1971-2001) - GREENFIELD, WILLIAMS
DESCRIPTION  A longitudinal study of Murdoch and Fairfax newspapers which aims to describe and analyse the historical, economic and cultural shifts of finance journalism as it contributes to financialisation and an increasingly dominant finance culture. It provides a series of snapshots of finance journalism from the early 1970s through to the new century. Draws on database (under construction) of finance news and analysis from 5 Australian broadsheets sampled throughout 2 separate week-long periods in each of 4 years--1971, 1981, 1991 and 2001--coinciding with the Federal Budget and a major data release.
